How to censor an image online

Upload an image and mark the details you want to hide. Use rectangles for text fields or shipping labels, and the brush for irregular shapes. Adjust the pixel size, compare the result with the original, and download a separate edited copy.

The image censor applies a pixelated mosaic to selected areas. You control the selections manually; the tool does not automatically find personal information or apply solid blackout bars.

Censor photo details before you share

A photo can reveal a shipping address, a name badge, a handwritten note, or a private message on a screen. Censor those details with separate selections so the main subject stays visible. Check the full frame for additional information before downloading.

For a document image, review names, street and email addresses, phone numbers, signatures, dates of birth, identifiers, barcodes, QR codes, and handwritten notes. A label can reveal what a nearby number means, so consider the context around each field.

Working with document scans and photos

To visually redact a document image for everyday sharing, save a scan or photo as JPG, PNG, or WebP and cover the relevant fields. This tool edits image pixels; it does not directly open PDFs or remove their text layers.

Multi-page documents need to be checked page by page. Editing one image does not change another scan or the original file stored on your device.

Image censorship and formal document redaction

Pixelating a document image is convenient for ordinary screenshots and casual sharing. It is not a certified redaction process, and it does not edit text layers or metadata inside a PDF.

Use an approved workflow when a court, employer, healthcare provider, or government agency specifies how information must be removed. For everyday sharing, inspect the exported image closely and keep the original private.
