About Pixelate Photo
Pixelate Photo is a free browser tool for applying mosaic effects to photos. Use it to obscure faces, license plates, or text, or give an entire image a blocky style. No account or software installation is required.
What the editor does
Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP image, apply pixelation to the whole image or use the rectangle and brush tools to select areas, then download the result. The editor provides a block mosaic effect. It does not detect faces automatically or apply a soft blur filter.
How your photos are processed
Image editing takes place locally in your browser. Photos opened in the editor are not uploaded to our server. The website uses Google Analytics for page visits and editor events; image contents and file names are not sent with those events. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
Pixelation is a visual effect and does not guarantee permanent removal of sensitive information. Always check the downloaded file before sharing it. Very sensitive information may require permanent removal or a fully opaque covering using another tool.

The Pixelate Photo blog publishes tutorials under the Pixelate Photo name. These guides explain the editor’s controls, photo mosaic effects, and pixel art basics. Each article identifies its publisher and includes its publication and modification dates. The same date on both fields means no later revision is recorded.
